“Where It All Began” to Premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh 2024.

“Where It All Began” has been selected to make its world premiere at The 36th Annual Galway Film Fleadh in 2024.

The short film will screen in the “Irish Talent, New Shorts 3: Fiction” programme, which explores past and present narratives, highlighting the timeless need for connection and community. It takes place on Thursday 11th July at 12pm in the Town Hall Theatre.

The film follows the experience of a transgender woman (Laylah Beattie) as she arrives in her rural hometown for her mother’s funeral and is met by the father (Lalor Roddy) she left behind. It was written and directed by Alan Dunne, and produced by Lee-Loi Chieng, Jayne Delahunt, Eoin Quinn, and Alan Dunne.

In 2024, the Galway Film Fleadh will screen 94 feature films from 45 countries with 20 World Premieres, 7 International/European Premieres and 52 Irish Premieres. They will screen 110 short films, and host a range of industry panels, events and masterclasses.
